Located inside the William S. Hart Park and designed by architect Arthur R. Kelly in the Spanish Colonial Revival Style, “La Loma de los Vientos” was completed in 1928, and served as the retirement home to western film star William S. Hart. Today the mansion is open to the public as a house museum, and exhibits an extensive collection of western and Native American art alongside many of the furnishing and personal effects of William S. Hart.

Kelly Sutherlin McLeod Architecture, Inc., serving as project architect, is leading a team of specialists to restore compromised building elements and repair deteriorated interior materials and finishes. Investigations have been carried out to identify building deficiencies and determine methods originally employed in creating the historic artistic finishes. A preservation plan is being developed to preserve and protect this unique and historically significant landmark property.
